Student Information System (SIS)

The purpose of the Student Information System (SIS) is to house data regarding a student’s demographic characteristics, enrollment history, attendance history, disciplinary history, projected class schedules and other student data (504, lunch status, etc.). During each data collection period, school districts are required to submit records for students enrolled in school.

When SIS Data Is Collected: SIS data is collected during scheduled Fall Oct 1 MFP, Fall Oct 1 CLASS, Spring Feb 1 MFP and SPC, SIS End-Of-Year data collection periods.

How SIS Data Are Used: SIS student data are used for the following purposes:

•        Calculating attendance rates, discipline rates, and truancy rates

•        Verifying compliance with legislated requirements for minimum minutes and days of instruction

•        Providing membership/counts used for funding calculations

•        Federal reporting
